Join us on Tuesday, September 15th for a Medicare 101 workshop. Michael Averweg, a local insurance agent (and GECU member) with 30 years of experience, will be here to discuss how the Medicare plans work together, recent Medicare changes and updates, ways to lower out-of-pocket costs and more! It is great information whether you are looking ahead or currently on Medicare. Refreshments will be provided, and space is limited, so if you would like to attend, please RSVP to the Credit Union at 309-793-3610 to reserve your spot.

Plan to join us on Friday, July 31st, as we celebrate Love My Credit Union Day! We'll be celebrating online and at the credit union with a fun drawing. Please note that Kona Ice has been postponed to Friday, August 7th from 12-2 due to a rainy forecast.

We are happy to announce that we are now offering Real-Time Payments. What does this mean? Quite simply, instead of waiting to get paid out via ACH from platforms like Venmo or Square, you can now choose Instant Pay, and your money will arrive in your GECU account instantly! 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including weekends and holidays!

We like to encourage saving money year-round, but we like to add some extra incentives in the summer with our Youth Summer Saving Program. Here’s how it works: The goal is to encourage kids to save at least 3 times during the summer (June 1st-August 31st). The first and second time they save, they will receive a fun summer-themed surprise. The third time, they will earn a $5 gift card to Whitey’s Ice Cream! Teenagers can still participate, but instead of receiving a prize, they will be entered into drawing for a $100 Visa gift card each time they save! If your child hasn’t opened their own account at the Credit Union, now is a great time to join. We can’t wait to see ALL of our young savers in the Credit Union this summer!

We are proud to announce that we have just paid back $250,000 to our members! This dividend was equally distributed to our borrowers and savers- $125,000 as a consumer loan interest rebate and $125,000 as a bonus dividend. Since 2014, we have paid nearly $1.5 million in bonus dividends back to our members! We believe that when we succeed, our member-owners should be rewarded. It’s just another way GECU stands out and once again proves that it genuinely pays to be a member
