Shared Branching
What happens if you are traveling out of town or even across town and need to get into the Credit Union? The answer is simple. Gas & Electric Credit Union is a part of the Shared Branching Network that gives our members access to over 5,000 Credit Union locations nationwide! You can go into any of these Shared Branch locations and conduct your business, deposit checks, withdraw funds, make payments, and more!
Access Your Account
To access your account at a shared branch, you will need to provide the following information:
- The name of your Credit Union
- Your account number
- A valid government issued ID
- The last four digits of your social security number
Effective May 1, 2025 you will need to use IDCheck to complete a transaction using an out-of-state ID. With IDCheck, you will need to take a quick picture of the front and back of your ID, as well as a selfie. IDCheck will then verify your identity and produce a code you will give the teller. Once the teller enters the code into the system, you will be ready to proceed with your transaction as usual. For ease, you may save the validation, speeding up the process going forward. If you do not have a smartphone, the participating Shared Branch will have a tablet or device you may utilize.
