GET YOUR NEXT AUTO LOAN AT THE DEALER...AND STILL USE YOUR CREDIT UNION! It's not often that we tell our members to finance at the dealer… but now we are willing to make an exception! Through a partnership with CU Direct Lending and various local dealerships, we are now able to offer our members financing at the Credit Union- right at the dealer! This option is great for members who would like to "one stop shop" when they purchase a vehicle from a dealer- but would still like to take advantage of getting a loan at the Credit Union. You will receive the same loan rate, same payments, and of course the same great service! However, members should keep in mind that the “extras”, such as GAP coverage or Extended Warranty are likely to be a bit higher when purchased at the dealer. You may still want to check with us first before tacking that on to your loan at the dealer. Just make sure to tell the dealer you are member of Gas & Electric Credit Union, and want to finance through us. We still encourage you to come in or call the Credit Union for your financing and add-ons, but we want to give you option to finance at the dealer for convenience. If you are expecting a refund this year and are having it directly deposited into the Credit Union– our routing number is 271188230. Please note that in January, we sent out 1099's to all members who earned more than $10 in interest and 1098's to all members who paid more than $600 in interest in mortgage loans. If you paid less than $600 in mortgage interest, your loan interest is still tax deductible. Simply refer to your year-end statement. 2012 SCHOLARSHIP Applications for the 2012 Illinois Quad City Chapter of Credit Unions are due into the Credit Union by February 15th. Any member who is a graduating senior or current undergraduate college student is eligible and encouraged to apply! Download an app now. NOTICE OF FEE CHANGE Effective March 1, 2012 we will be charging $5 for the first replacement debit card, $10 for the second within 1 year, and $20 for the third and each one thereafter. Please note that you will not be charged for replacements when your card expires, or if your card is not functioning. 2012 CALENDARS The 2012 calendars have just arrived! As a reminder, we will only be mailing these out to members by request. If you would like one sent to you, please give us a call send us an email. Otherwise, we will have them available for pickup in the lobby anytime. NO WORRIES! NO DEBIT CARD FEES AT YOUR CREDIT UNION You may have heard in the news recently of other financial institutions starting to charge a monthly fee for debit cardholders. Rest assured that your Credit Union does NOT and will NOT be charging our members for this service! Regulatory changes have made it more costly for all financial institutions, but your Credit Union is dedicated to offering this service to you- our members at no cost. READY CASH LINE OF CREDIT: CONVENIENT CASH WHEN YOU NEED IT Running low in your checking account? Unexpected bill? Need cash quick? Your Credit Union's Ready Cash loan is just what you need! Ready cash is a line of credit that you can draw upon whenever it is needed.
