GAP SPECIAL

During the month of August, we will be having a special on GAP (Guaranteed Asset Protection) coverage. We will be offering this coverage for only $175! If you've ever priced GAP you'll know that this is MUCH lower than you'll find at the dealer.

What is GAP? GAP coverage is beneficial to members when their loan balance is at or above the value of the vehicle. With depreciating car values and extended loan terms- this is not an unusual situation. GAP covers the difference between your loan balance and the payoff amount- or value of your car- your insurance would give you if your vehicle was ever stolen or totaled- up to 125% of the vehicle's value. Plus, GAP will also pay for you primary insurance deductible, up to $1,000!

INTRODUCING TXT BANKING

Check your account balances, view account history, make a loan payment and transfer money anytime... all from your cell phone. That’s right TXT Banking is now available at your Credit Union! Here's how it works: To use this service, you need to be signed up for our free HomeCU Online Banking. When you login to your account there is a new menu option- TXT Banking. Simply click on this option to register your cell phone number. You will need to enter an activation code (this will be sent to your phone upon registering) and select a PIN. Once you’re phone number is registered, you will simply need to send text messages to gecu@cutxt.com from your cell phone to retrieve and send your requests. When you register your phone you will see the complete menu and codes for transactions and inquiries. For instance, to get your current balance you will simply need to text BAL [your PIN]. TXT Banking is a FREE service offered to you from your Credit Union, however normal text messaging charges from your cell phone provider still apply.

MADE IN THE SHADE SHAZAM DEBIT PROMOTION

Use your debit card from July 1st to September 30th and you will be automatically entered into Shazam's "Made in the Shade" promotion. The contest will award fun gifts like hammocks, a backyard gazebo and a patio set. The more you use your card, the more chances you have to win! ANNUAL MEETING HIGHLIGHTS

The 72nd Annual Meeting of the Gas & Electric Credit Union was held on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at the Botanical Center in Rock Island. Over 165 members joined us for the evening! After the meeting was adjourned, members enjoyed dinner, door prizes and giveaways.

The following members were elected to the Board of Directors: Fred Attwood, Kristi Dorgan, Daryl Empen, Paul Garcia, David Gordon, Paul Johnson, Jeffrey Hindman, Ron Manthey, Joan Russell, Dean Service, Karen Thode, and Bill Sowards. CARFAX CAR REPORTS

We are happy to announce that we are now offering CarFax car reports at a reduced rate of $12. Just get the VIN and we can supply you with the complete vehicle history report. Call the Credit Union if you would like us to pull a report for you. 

IT'S HERE! WE NOW HAVE A THIRD DRIVE UP LANE!

Our third drive up land is now open! Please note that we also have new equipment in all three lanes and it is very quiet- so quiet in fact we rarely hear you when you're there waiting! So, please make sure you press the button when you are ready for us.  We are hoping that the third lane will help alleviate some of the "congestion" in the first lane (ATM lane) and make your trip to the Credit Union that much faster!

USE YOUR ATM MORE... FOR FREE

As a change to give more back to you- our members, we have changed our ATM policy. Members are now allowed up to 10 FREE ATM transactions per month (up from 5) at foreign ATMs before incurring a 75 cent fee.

Remember that transactions at our ATMs (at the Credit Union, in MidAmerican, the District of Rock Island and in Bituminous) are FREE and UNLIMITED. We are also a part of the Privileged Status Network of ATMs, so members may visit select ATMs without incurring a surcharge fee.
